1 March 2010		Global news GE SECURITY JOINS UTC FIRE & SECURITY UTC has announced the completion of the acquisition of GE Security.  As of March 1, 2010, GE Security (GES) is officially part of UTC Fire & Security (UTCFS).  GES will add about $1.2 billion in annual sales revenue to UTCFS. "The addition of GE Security gives us complementary products and global scale," said Bill Brown, President, UTC Fire & Security.  "Together, we're a much stronger, more competitive franchise and we have the resources to develop state-of-the-art products for our customers."  GES employs approximately 4,700 people in 26 countries.  To welcome new employees to the combined organization, UTCFS executives and Human Resources leaders visited 21 GES facilities around the world.  During these meetings, the presenters discussed the values and commitments of UTC and UTCFS, hosted Q&A sessions, and shared two videos - a welcome message from Bill Brown and an employee testimonial video in which employees from both companies discussed benefits of the acquisition.   The welcome events across GE Security locations provide an opportunity to introduce employees to the new organization, deliver critical information, and instill a sense of excitement about what the companies can accomplish together.
